This week’s child of the week is Liu Xi (Simon). Simon has been at Bethel for a year and a half and it has been wonderful to see him learn and grow during this time. He loves to play and cuddle with his brothers and sisters and he is so much fun.

He has low vision and he can see large shapes, people and obstacles. He likes running and he is very confident when he walks in familiar places, and he learns how to navigate in new places very quickly. He especially likes playing with an iPad and anything technology related and he has a very active imagination.

Simon is very independent and his ayis and teachers give him responsibilities at school at at home. He loves to be asked to help carry things, or deliver messages from one teacher to another. It makes him feel like the growing, responsible young man that he is! He also often helps the younger children, holding their hands and leading them to where they need to go.

Simon is doing wonderfully well at school. He likes to answer questions and his teachers is always very encouraging of him. Watch Simon’s little video here:
We have recently had an optometrist visit us and she will help Simon new glasses. He will be graduating from preschool on Wednesday!
